Principal Media Advisor Urges Employees to Engage in Constructive Dialogue
1 min readShimla, August 23, 2024: Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan, today called on state employees to address their concerns through constructive dialogue with the government rather than resorting to public criticism or allegations. In a press statement, Chauhan emphasized the state government’s commitment to the welfare of its employees, pointing to the swift restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) as a key example. The scheme, reinstated during the first cabinet meeting under the current administration, benefits 1.36 lakh employees.
Chauhan also criticized the previous BJP government for neglecting employees’ demands and leaving behind a significant financial burden. He noted that the state is grappling with a debt of Rs. 75,000 crore, with an additional Rs. 10,000 crore owed to employees. Despite these challenges, Chauhan praised the Chief Minister’s decisive actions aimed at stabilizing the state’s finances, including efforts to revive loss-making entities like the Electricity Board and HRTC.
Expressing disappointment over recent employee protests, Chauhan urged employees to seek resolutions through dialogue rather than disruptive actions. He reiterated the government’s dedication to supporting all sections of society, including farmers, horticulturists, and the unemployed, and encouraged ongoing communication to resolve any outstanding issues.
