Preserve Traditional Sports : Sanjay Awasthi

Arki MLA, Sanjay Awasthi, said that wrestling is our traditional sport, and everyone’s cooperation is necessary for its preservation. Sanjay Awasthi was addressing the closing ceremony of the one-day wrestling competition organized by the Sports and Wrestling Committee Mangal (Baga) at Shalughat of Gram Panchayat Baga Karog of Arki Assembly constituency today.
Sanjay Awasthi said that wrestling is an integral part of our rich culture. Wrestling committees and wrestlers have played an important role in preserving and promoting this traditional sport. He said that drug addiction has emerged as a challenge for society at present. Such sports are playing an important role in keeping the youth away from drug addiction and attracting them towards physical development.
He called upon the youth to take inspiration from the wrestlers who came to the wrestling arena and start giving importance to sports in their daily lives. He said that by joining sports, the youth will not only become physically strong but will also become mentally focused. He urged the participants to try to move forward in life by following the experiences of victory and defeat.
The MLA said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is sensitive towards sports and sportspersons. Various schemes have been implemented by the Chief Minister for the protection of sports and sportspersons. He said that the prize money for winning a gold medal in the individual event of the Olympic Games has been increased from Rs. 3 crore to Rs. 5 crore, the prize money for winning a silver medal from Rs. 2 crore to Rs. 3 crore and the prize money for winning a bronze medal has been increased from Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 2 crore. He said that the prize money for players winning medals in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games has also been increased.
Sanjay Awasthi said that the development of the Arki assembly constituency is his priority. He is making every possible effort to further increase the pace of development of the area. He said that he is committed to providing education, health, roads, and other facilities to every person in the area.
He announced to give Rs 31 thousand to the organizing committee.
On this occasion, the MLA heard the problems of the people and directed the concerned officials to resolve them immediately.
On this occasion, the local people expressed their gratitude to the MLA for approving the upgradation work of the Dadla Mod-Navgaon-Bari road.
