Present situation is under miasma to dormant corona, say senior medical experts in APG Varsity’s webinar

APG Shimla University and Venkateshwar Open University jointly organized a national webinar on the topic Covid-19: Preparing the Society for Mitigation here on Friday. Dr. Rajan Sharma, the former President of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Dr. Vimal Vishamber Raina, head department of pediatrics in Shri Aggarsain International Hospital New Delhi participated in the webinar as subject experts. Senior journalist Dr. Ashwani Sharma, the bureau head of Outlook magazine, moderated the webinar. On behalf of Dr. Ashwani Sharma throwing light on the current situation of corona, preparations, strategy, vaccination, health conveniences, safety against pandemic and children health issues posited before the doctoral discussion among the viewers, students and teachers and briefed that still people were aware about the first wave of corona and second wave of corona which engulfed the old age people and youngsters but observing the current situation and possibility of the third wave of corona, people are not aware, which may be fatal for the children neither no solid strategy, safety and message in this context still. Dr. Sharma made the webinar crucial for children’s safety and their health issue for doctors’ opinion for the sake of public and mass awareness as well. In the webinar, Dr. Rajan Sharma said that there is a need to take proactive measures especially to deal with the possibility of the third wave of corona. Emphasizing that even though we can expect the third wave after a few time, all necessary efforts and basic health infrastructure development work should be started from now. Dr. Rajan Sharma exasperated on government and briefed on the current situation of Covid-19 that government has no solid strategy, shortage of universal vaccination and public health conveniences but has negligence, allowing public congregation without calibration, dearth of necessary health items, allowing election rallies, dearth of specialist doctors and nurses staff, snail pace in medical research, over confidence of the government and no proper guidance to the public which is creating much help to corona spread. If we mention explain in rough figure that eleven hundred doctors lost their lives during this pandemic but government has no solid figures of the death of doctors and nurses till date, and due to the dearth of health conveniences, corona patients lost their lives and the attendant of the patients also attacked on doctors, nurses even killed in many areas of India. This time is not for criticizing but safe the public and children first and removes the fear of corona immediately and we should respite the public by providing health facilities and proper mass vaccination at high speed, Dr. Rajan Sharma added. “The slogan of the government ‘Jab tak davaee nahin, tab tak dhilaee nahin, where lost this slogan as during that time people in government even opposition party people involved themselves in redundant rallies and made super spreader events to lead the second wave of corona at large level”, Dr. Rajan Sharma commented a comment on the government. He said that the possibility of the third wave of corona has been estimated by the scientists of big medical research centers of the developed countries, and in their countries, the strategy for controlling third wave and working on preparations of health facilities has been started now, while in India, mass vaccination is not being administered to all even in the second wave of corona, somewhere dearth of vaccination, somewhere dearth of gas cylinders, lack of beds, ventilators and shortage of doctors in hospitals are not being provided properly to the patients which caused distraught to the masses. Now people have no confidence and expectation of vaccination facilities in many areas of India due to the tenuous steps of the government as newsfeed in media.
In the webinar, other senior medical expert, Dr. Vimal Vishamber Raina said that for the third wave, we have to adopt a three-stage strategy. Above all, he emphasized on increasing rate of vaccination at every fast pace. He also said that even if there is a decline in the rate of Kovid, there is a need to increase health infrastructure.
“A new set of symptoms is expected in this coming third wave of corona, Dr. Raina added.
Dr. Vimal Vishamber Raina said infants, children have not yet been exposed to this virus and have not been harmed, so a wave of new mutants may themselves to affect infants or below the age of fifteen. Dr. Vimal Vishamber said that this coming wave of Covid-19 will surely affect babies according to various models created by experts. The seriousness of the cases will be very less. There is a possibility of a higher infection rate with less virulence. Dr. Vimal told that even if everything remains the same for this third wave of corona, we will still need specialist doctors to give the correct vaccination and dosage of medicine to an infant or fifteen year old child. Safety of every child is very important for all doctors and all people, Dr. Vimal added. Dr. Vimal said that third wave of corona may be is a big daunting and given the current situation we can easily increase our knowledge before the coming of this wave. Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan, the Vice-Chancellor of APG Shimla University and Prof. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Choudhary, the vice-Chancellor of Venkateshwar Open University thanked the experts and said that do not take corona lightly. They added that we all need of proper vaccination, health facilities, better treatment, research and mass awareness to escape from the third wave of corona. Students of APG varsity, teachers and more than two hundred people participated in the webinar and some students asked questions related to corona and the specialist doctors cleared their doubts.
