Sundernagar, March 31: A political storm has brewed in the state as verbal clashes escalate between BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut and incumbent MP Pratibha Singh from the Mandi parliamentary constituency. Tensions flared after Pratibha Singh advised Kangana against contesting Lok Sabha elections, prompting a strong retort from the sitting MP.
During a media interaction in Bhaur, a part of the Nachan assembly segment in Mandi district, Pratibha Singh expressed her commitment to serving the people of Himachal Pradesh. She reiterated her desire to continue serving the public if given the opportunity by divine grace and her physical well-being. She highlighted her past engagements, including her contest against BJP candidate Ramswaroop Sharma on the directives of the party high command and her subsequent victory in a by-election following the demise of former CM Virbhadra Singh. She affirmed her readiness to enter the electoral fray if nominated by the party high command this time as well.
Pratibha Singh further stated that the achievements of the state government during its 15-month tenure will be presented to the public during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. She assured that the Congress government has fulfilled the promises made in its manifesto and will continue to do so over the next five years. However, she expressed disappointment over the lack of assistance from the central government, despite the release of a financial package worth 4500 crore rupees for disaster-affected individuals by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. She emphasized that the people of the state are discerning and recognize which party has supported them.
Regarding the ongoing by-elections in various assembly constituencies alongside the Lok Sabha polls, Pratibha Singh exuded confidence in securing victories in these electoral battles as well.
