Political Controversy Erupts in Himachal Pradesh Over Video of Apples Thrown in Drain

Shimla, August 1: The video of apples being thrown into a drain in Rohru, the capital, has heated up the political atmosphere. Education Minister Rohit Thakur, MLA from Jubbal-Kotkhai and a member of Congress, stated that the video was politically motivated. He accused BJP of engaging in cheap politics during the disaster and releasing the video during the visit of opposition leader Jairam Thakur to Jubbal-Kotkhai. He further mentioned that the heavy rainfall caused extensive damage across the entire state. Landslides have blocked roads in upper Shimla as well, and the government is making every effort to reopen them. These are the same people who, during BJP’s rule in 2010, turned over 100 crore worth of apple fertilizer into waste. However, the state government stands with the farmers and is making every effort to ensure that their apples reach the markets.

He emphasized that BJP is the same party that always opposed the buying and selling of apples in kilos. They have always treated the farmers poorly, while the Congress government, as soon as it came to power, established a system for the buying and selling of apples in kilos, bringing relief to the farmers, who are now satisfied.
