Himachal Pradesh Police has performed admirably during the natural disaster. In the areas of Kullu and Manali, where people were anxious due to the calamity, the police personnel stood strong. They managed to safely rescue 70,000 stranded individuals and 12,000 vehicles. This operation also included around 2,000 foreign nationals.

DGP Sanjay Kundu shared these achievements during a press conference held at the police headquarters. He mentioned that the commendable work of the police during this natural disaster earned appreciation from the National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval, who wrote a letter praising the police’s efforts.

He further stated that the law and order situation in the state, including the bordering regions, is strong compared to the neighboring states. The police, including the Sirmaur district, have been doing good work. Sirmaur Police has been effective in tackling issues related to substance abuse and crime. The crime rate against women and children has decreased across the district and the state. In the past three years, the police have located and rescued over 4,000 women and children.

In addition to these efforts, the police have taken significant steps towards road safety, resulting in an 8% reduction in road accidents. They have also collected fines totaling around 3.14 crore INR in actions against mining mafias, forest mafias, and wildlife crimes. The occasion saw the presence of Police Superintendent Raman Kumar Meena and other police officials.

DGP Sanjay Kundu inaugurated a visitor’s room at the Nahna Police Headquarters. Police Superintendent Raman Kumar Meena mentioned that people coming from outside were facing difficulties in finding a place to sit, so this visitor’s room was constructed to address that issue.
