Police Bust Human Trafficking Operation in Una

Una, Oct 05 – In a joint operation, a team of police and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) conducted a raid on two hotels located in Basoli, near the district headquarters of Una, Himachal Pradesh, uncovering a case of human trafficking. During the operation, two young women were rescued from one of the hotels. Subsequently, a case has been registered against the hotel manager and a woman from Punjab.

The police received confidential information about possible human trafficking activities taking place in one of the hotels, prompting the formation of a team under the leadership of SHO Una, Manoj Valiya. The police team conducted the operation on Thursday afternoon, targeting the hotels in close proximity to a religious site.

During the operation, evidence of human trafficking was discovered in one of the hotels. When questioned, the hotel manager failed to provide satisfactory answers. Subsequently, the police team moved to the second hotel, where several young women were found in separate rooms. Apart from the human trafficking case, no other illegal activities were detected in the hotel premises.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjeev Bhatia stated that based on the information received, the police conducted the raid on two hotels. Two young women have been rescued, and a case has been filed against the hotel manager and a woman from Punjab. The police are actively investigating the case, and further inquiries are underway.

The operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat human trafficking and ensure the safety and well-being of potential victims.
