Police Arrest Suspect in Murder Case at Shivpuri Cemetery

Shimla, December 20: The police have swiftly resolved the murder case of a youth in the Shivpuri cemetery within 48 hours. Abhishek (26), a resident of Krishnanagar, has been apprehended in connection with the murder. He was presented before the court on Tuesday, and the police have sought his remand for further investigation. The preliminary investigation reveals that Asim (22), son of Kwardhan, a resident of Kwaradhan, was killed on December 15.

According to the initial findings of the investigation team, on the evening of December 15, Asim and Abhishek, along with two other friends, gathered at the Shivpuri cemetery to consume alcohol. After a while, the two friends left, leaving Asim and Abhishek behind. During this time, an altercation ensued between the two due to previous disputes, leading to a physical altercation. It is reported that this was not the first instance of a violent clash between the two. The investigation team has sent samples of stones, soil, clothes, bottles, glasses, and blood for forensic examination.

The police are awaiting the results of the forensic analysis to uncover the true facts behind the murder. Currently, the Shimla Police have initiated proceedings in the case. ASP Sunil Negi stated that one person has been arrested in connection with the murder case, and a thorough investigation into every aspect of the case is underway.

Here’s the complete sequence of events:
On December 17, a body in a critical condition with bloodstains was discovered at the cemetery in Kanlog, Shimla. Pratap Singh, an employee of the water supply company, reported the incident to the police. He noticed a person lying in the bushes while delivering water around 7:15 AM. Acting on the information, DSP Amit Thakur and an FSL team collected fingerprints from the scene. Additionally, the assistance of a dog squad was employed.

During the investigation, the police conducted interviews with migrant workers to identify the victim. On December 18, the victim was identified as Asim (22), a resident of Kwaradhan in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Asim had been living with his family in a makeshift house in the CPRI area of the city for the last 35 years, supporting his family through labor work. According to the preliminary investigation, Asim had been missing from his home since the evening of December 15.
