Kiren Rijiju Slams Congress Over Emergency हिस्ट्री
Shimla, June 26 – Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that a resolution was passed in the Cabinet under PM Narendra Modi condemning the Emergency era as a dark chapter in Indian democracy. Speaking to the media in Shimla, Rijiju said the government and party will take this message to the public, emphasizing India as the mother of democracy and a guardian of constitutional values.
He criticized Congress for suppressing freedoms during the Emergency and accused them of hypocrisy for now speaking of constitutional protection. Rijiju reminded that it was PM Modi who initiated Constitution Day on November 26 to raise awareness.
Referring to claims of “undeclared emergency,” he stated, “If there really was one today, Congress leaders wouldn’t be freely criticizing the Prime Minister.”

Rijiju also announced development projects worth ₹118.67 crore in Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti, including indoor stadiums, ice hockey rinks, and sewage infrastructure. These initiatives aim to empower remote regions and generate employment, aligning with Khelo India and Fit India missions.
