PM Modi likely to visit Kangra on Sept 9 for aerial survey of flood-hit areas

Shimla Sept 07: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Kangra parliamentary constituency on September 9, subject to clear weather, to conduct an aerial survey of disaster-affected regions. He will also hold a review meeting in Dharamshala before returning to Delhi in the afternoon. CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said a detailed report on the damages caused by the monsoon will be presented to the PM, along with a request for timely release of relief funds. He also highlighted over 50 cloudburst incidents in the state this monsoon, stressing the need for scientific study. The CM added that 16,000 stranded devotees at Manimahesh were safely evacuated with the help of helicopters and HRTC buses, and assured that farmers’ apple produce will be transported to markets once roads are cleared.
