PM interacts with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna
1 min readShimla, March 07- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna through video conferencing on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas -2021. On this occasion, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur were specially present in the function organized at the Ridge, Shimla.
The Prime Minister, while interacting with Krishna Verma, a resident of village Sarog in Theog sub-division of Shimla district, the beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna, said that every family in Himachal Pradesh is like as ‘Devdoot’. Himachalis have always made commendable contribution in the service of the Nation, he added.
While interacting with Media after the programme, Jai Ram Thakur said that the Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna has become Sanjeevani for the poor. He said that this scheme has become very popular in the state and would be further accelerated, besides incentives will also be provided for its expansion.
The Chief Minister said that there are 54 centers under this scheme in the State out of which 14 centres have been set up in Government hospitals. The scheme is also providing a good source of self-employment for the youth with regular income.
Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Thakur said that rates of the medicines being provided under Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushdhi Pariyojna are 50 to 90 percent cheaper.
He appreciated the budget for the financial year 2021-22, presented by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in HP Vidhan Sabha.
