PM holds video conference with states over Covid-19 situation
1 min readShimla, April 8 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today presided over the Video Conference with the Chief Ministers, Lt. Governors and Administrators of the States to review the emerging situation of COVID-19 and progress in Vaccination in the country. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur participated in the video conference from Shimla.
Prime Minister urged the States to increase testing facilities, besides focusing of tracing and treatment. He also urged to increase vaccinations and ensure minimum wastage of the same.
Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the Prime Minister and other dignitaries in the video conference and conducted the meeting. He said that India was providing about 31 lakh doses of vaccine per day which was even ahead of US. He said that on 5th of this month over 43 lakh persons were administered vaccine in a single day.
Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Chief Ministers, Lt. Governors and Administrators of the State attended the video conferencing.
Secretary Health Government of India made a presentation on Covid-19 situation and progress in vaccination in the country. He informed that there was ample stock of vaccines and till date about 9 crore people have been vaccinated.
Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal, Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Additional Chief Secretary J.C. Sharma and Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi were present with the Chief Minister at Shimla.
