Shahpur, March 2: Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Keval Singh Pathania inaugurated development projects worth ₹19.50 lakh in Sihuwan Panchayat under Shahpur constituency.

A Common Service Centre (CSC) building constructed at a cost of ₹13 lakh and a Plastic Management Unit established with an expenditure of ₹6.50 lakh were formally dedicated to the public.

Addressing the gathering, Pathania said the CSC will enable residents to access services such as Aadhaar, PAN card, income, caste, and domicile certificates along with other government and non-government services within the panchayat itself, saving both time and money while ensuring transparency.

He stated that the Plastic Management Unit is a concrete step towards making Sihuwan Panchayat plastic-free. The unit will scientifically collect and process plastic waste, promoting environmental protection and generating additional revenue opportunities for the panchayat. He further informed that 12 other panchayats of Rait Development Block have been linked to the facility, and plastic waste collected from these areas will be processed at the Sihuwan unit to strengthen the cleanliness drive across the region.

The MLA also announced that ₹40 lakh has been sanctioned for road improvement and repair works in Paed village of the same panchayat, and the work will begin shortly. He added that construction of a dedicated building for PHC Sihuwan will also commence soon.

Pathania expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for allocating adequate funds for developmental activities and reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and promoting cleanliness.

Former Panchayat Pradhan Ajay Babli welcomed the chief guest and thanked him for the ongoing development initiatives in the area. After the event, the MLA inspected the proposed site for the PHC building along with officials from various departments.
