Penalty of 5.49 lakh imposed against illegal miners: Yunus

He said that over the past week 184 cases of illegal mining have been registered in the state based on complaints received during the special drive. He said that strict actions have been taken against offenders and fines amounting to Rs 5.49 lakh were imposed during this period.
Dr. Yunus said that the department was ensuring public participation to prevent illegal mining. He urged citizens to share any information or complaints related to illegal mining with the department. He said that prompt action was being ensured on the information shared regarding illegal mining by the citizens.
