Patwari, Kanungo agree to return to work after meeting Chief Minister

The State Patwari and Kanungo Association has decided to return to work after a meeting with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu held in Dehra today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister assured the delegation that the State Government would consider their legitimate demands with a positive outlook.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that making Patwaris and Kanungos a state cadre was a policy decision, asking the Association to co-operate in this important initiative. He said that Patwaris and Kanungos play a crucial role in implementing the government schemes at the grassroots level. He further stated that the Government was working on a mission mode to address the issues faced by the common people, with Patwaris and Kanungos being key contributors to this mission.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the State Government was committed to enhancing the facilities for Patwaris and Kanungos. He said that the state government has restored the old pension scheme and the state government was committed to provide benefits to its employees in a phased manner.
President of the State Patwari and Kanungo Association Satish Chaudhary expressed full support for the Government’s initiatives and assured the Chief Minister of the Association’s co-operation. Additionally, he said that all Patwaris and Kanungos would donate one day’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as a gesture of goodwill.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLAs Sanjay Ratan, Sudarshan Bablu, Malendra Rajan, former MLA Ajay Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Omkar Chand Sharma along with other officials of the State Patwari and Kanungo Association were present.
