Partition of India Was Well-Planned Conspiracy by Nehru, Jinnah, and the British: Suresh Kashyap

2 min read

Shimla, Aug 14 – Former BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap participated in a programme organized in the district on the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.

Addressing the gathering, Suresh Kashyap stated that the partition of the country was the result of the actions of then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohammad Ali Jinnah, executed under a well-planned strategy by the British. He described it as a “black day” in the history of our nation and the first step towards breaking the unity of Akhanda Bharat. Even today, the people of India remember the atrocities and massacres committed against Hindus during that period. In the partition, we lost around 20 lakh brothers and sisters.

He added that August 14, observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, is a day to recall the tragedy when our great nation was divided. Millions were displaced, and countless lives were lost. As a tribute to those families uprooted from their ancestral homes and forced to migrate, the Modi government decided to officially observe this day to honour their sacrifice and resilience.

Kashyap emphasized that the partition remains one of the most painful chapters in our nation’s history. Unfortunately, successive Congress-led governments attempted to conceal the complete truth about these tragic events, limiting public awareness of historical mistakes. It is essential to reflect deeply on those painful incidents, learn the right lessons, and remain committed to ensuring that our motherland never faces such a tragedy again.

He said that the leadership at that time gravely underestimated how their decisions would impact minorities in present-day Pakistan, subjecting them to violence, persecution, and forced displacement. The violent wounds of partition, inflicted at the birth of independent India, have left permanent scars on millions of lives. Therefore, our Independence Day celebrations cannot be complete without acknowledging the lessons learned from partition. Such introspection strengthens our resolve to safeguard India’s sovereignty, unity, and integrity at all costs.
