Parakram 2023: Celebration of Unity and Sportsmanship Starts At JUIT

Parakram 2023, the annual sports fest organized by Jaypee University of Information Technology’s Youth Club, kicked off with immense enthusiasm following a spectacular opening ceremony hosted at the JUIT auditorium. The Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. R.K. Sharma, alongside Registrar and Dean of Students Maj. Gen. Rakesh Bassi, inaugurated the event. Dr. Naveen Jaglan, Faculty Coordinator, JYC, Mr. Muneesh Sood, Sports Faculty Coordinator, Dr. Amit Srivastava, Former JYC Faculty Coordinator, Prof. Shruti Jain, Associate Dean (Innovations), Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, Media In-charge, JUIT, and other esteemed faculty members, along with numerous students, graced this inaugural ceremony.
Over the next three days, Parakram 2023 will witness intense competition among approximately 400 talented participants from universities such as IIT Ropar, IGMC Shimla, Chitkara University (Baddi), Chitkara University (Rajpura), Bahra University, Doon Business University, and UIET Panjab University. These participants will engage in a wide range of sports, including badminton, volleyball, basketball, cricket, chess, table tennis, and football.
During these two days of competition, participants will battle fiercely across various sports, vying for the prestigious Parakram trophies. Beyond the pursuit of victory, this event emphasizes the development of lifelong bonds, the promotion of physical fitness, and the nurturing of a spirit of sportsmanship.
As athletes dedicate themselves to their respective sports, they also exemplify qualities such as resilience, teamwork, and unwavering dedication. Parakram 2023 is not only about competition but also about creating enduring memories and promoting unity among universities.
