Over ₹10 Crore Proposals to be Sent to State Disaster Management Authority

Shimla, July 26: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Shimla, will send two key proposals worth ₹10.39 crore to the State Disaster Management Authority for approval. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap.

The first proposal involves geo-tagging and flood mapping of the Pabbar River and its tributaries in the Rohru area, with an estimated cost of ₹1.83 crore. The project aims to assess current water levels, flood-prone zones, and devise a balanced utilization strategy to mitigate disaster impact.

The second proposal seeks ₹8.55 crore for widening the road stretch from Cart Road to Annadale. It includes construction of protection walls, cross drainage systems, roadside drains, crash barriers, and metalling works.

The meeting was also attended by Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, along with officers from PWD and Jal Shakti departments.
