Opposition Absent From RDG Presentation in Shimla Despite CM’s Formal Invitation

The state government on Tuesday clarified that certain misleading statements are being circulated in the media regarding the absence of the Opposition from the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) presentation held in Shimla.

According to official information, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had personally written a formal letter inviting the Leader of Opposition to participate in the RDG presentation. Despite this direct invitation from the Chief Minister, no representative from the Opposition attended the programme.

The government rejected claims made in some media reports suggesting that the invitation was issued only at the secretary level and that proper protocol was not followed. Officials stated that these claims are factually incorrect and contrary to the actual sequence of events.

The government has urged the media to present accurate and fact-based information in public interest and to publish or broadcast the news along with a copy of the Chief Minister’s invitation letter, so that the correct facts are placed before the public.
