Operation Sindoor: Decisive Blow – Jairam in Mandi Tiranga Yatra

2 min read

Mandi, 16 May 2025 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur lauded the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor as a historic and much-awaited response to the Pahalgam massacre, asserting that India has answered Pakistan not by religion but by their actions.

Speaking at the Tiranga Yatra held in honour of the Indian armed forces at Seri Manch, Thakur said, “The war has not ended, this is just the beginning. Any further terrorist attack will be answered in the language of war.”

He condemned Pakistan as a hub for harbouring terrorists and stated that the retaliatory strike was a strong message — more than 100 terrorists neutralised in targeted attacks on 9 key terror-launching pads across the border, with precision and without civilian harm. He highlighted that Pakistan resorted to drone and missile attacks in response, which were intercepted mid-air by India’s Air Force, further resulting in the destruction of several Pakistani military installations and airbases.

Thakur emphasized the global impact, claiming Pakistan was left so rattled that it begged for ceasefire mediation from international powers. He confirmed that India agreed to the ceasefire on its own terms, warning that any future terror attempt would be met with military retribution.

Calling for a complete diplomatic boycott of Turkey for supporting Pakistan during the operation, he voiced the national sentiment of cutting ties with any nation aiding terrorism.

The Tiranga Yatra, he noted, was not political but a tribute to the valor and sacrifice of the Indian Army. Present at the event were retired Lt. Gen. Rakesh Kapoor, Kargil war hero Brigadier Khushal Thakur, MLAs Anil Sharma, Rakesh Jamwal, and several BJP leaders including spokesperson Ajay Rana and media co-incharge Rajat Thakur.
