Only 19,305 Out of 1.82 Lakh Artisans Registered Under PM Vishwakarma in Himachal

Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, 1.82 lakh artisans and craftsmen from Himachal Pradesh have applied, but only 19,305 have been registered so far, according to Union Minister of State for MSME, Shobha Karandlaje. She shared this information in Parliament while responding to Rajya Sabha MP Indu Bala Goswami.

From September 17, 2023, to February 4, 2025, a total of 2.65 crore applications have been received across India, with 27.13 lakh artisans registered under the scheme. The initiative aims to provide economic and technical support to traditional artisans.

State-wise Applications & Registrations

• Karnataka: 31.47 lakh applications, 5.48 lakh registrations
• Uttar Pradesh: 31.26 lakh applications, 1.60 lakh registrations
• Haryana: 7.18 lakh applications, 35,289 registrations
• Jammu & Kashmir: 4.74 lakh applications, 1.52 lakh registrations
• Punjab: 1.79 lakh applications, 11,657 registrations
• Uttarakhand: 2.75 lakh applications, 19,184 registrations
• Chandigarh: 1,138 applications, 244 registrations

30 Lakh Artisans to Benefit in 5 Years

The five-year PM Vishwakarma Yojana was approved on August 16, 2023, with a budget of ₹13,000 crore for 2023-24 to 2027-28. The scheme aims to support 30 lakh artisans and craftsmen across India.
