Shimla, Dec 27 :
Himachal Pradesh’s rich tradition of craftsmanship and district-specific products is set to gain national and global visibility at the HIM MSME Fest, scheduled from 3 to 5 January at The Ridge and Peterhof, Shimla. The event will prominently showcase the State’s One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, creating new market pathways for farmers, artisans, and small entrepreneurs.

Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan said the ODOP initiative is redefining district-level economies by blending traditional skills with modern market access. For the first time, ODOP products from all districts will be displayed on a single platform through a dedicated pavilion, enabling direct interaction with major national buyers and e-commerce platforms, including Amazon.

He highlighted that each district’s unique identity—ranging from Chamba Rumal and Kullu Shawls to Kangra Tea, Chulli Oil from Kinnaur, and Seabuckthorn products from Lahaul-Spiti—is being strengthened through value addition, improved packaging, and wider outreach.

The Minister said the MSME Fest marks a decisive step toward integrating Himachal’s grassroots potential with national and international markets. He added that sustained policy support and stronger market linkages will help district-specific products achieve long-term recognition, reinforcing the State’s vision of a self-reliant and inclusive economy.
