No Shortage of LPG, Petrol or Diesel in Shimla: DC Assures Uninterrupted Supply

Shimla, March 19, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap on Thursday reviewed the supply of domestic gas and fuel in the district through a video conference with oil and gas companies, assuring that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders, petrol or diesel and supplies are continuing smoothly.

He directed that commercial LPG cylinders be supplied as per government priorities, ensuring uninterrupted availability to essential institutions such as hospitals, schools, colleges, hotels, restaurants and homestays. The DC also urged citizens not to indulge in unnecessary hoarding of essential commodities.

Kashyap informed that the district administration is in constant coordination with oil marketing companies to monitor the situation and ensure seamless supply. He appealed to residents to maintain calm and extend cooperation to the administration.

He further stated that all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) are holding daily meetings with petrol pump dealers and gas agencies, submitting regular reports. Inspections are also being conducted to check the misuse of domestic LPG cylinders in commercial establishments.

Additionally, he emphasized that diesel availability for major development works is being ensured so that ongoing projects are not affected.

Senior officials including AC to DC Devi Chand Thakur, District Controller (Food & Civil Supplies) Narendra Dhiman, DSP City Gulshan Negi and FSO Anita Thakur were present during the meeting.
