No Safety, Know Pain!

“No Safety, Know Pain. Know Safety, No Pain” seems to hold good for all, especially in the context of road transport. When it comes to Himachal, no doubt government is doing a yeoman’s job by making sure that women and children are protected each time they opt for commercial vehicle service.
Himachal emerged as the first state in the country to integrate commercial vehicles registered after January 1, 2019, with the emergency response support system (ERSS) and nearly 9,423 commercial vehicles have such tracking devices installed in them which are 24×7 monitored at the transport office.
The Vehicle Location Tracking Device with Emergency Panic Button System and Command Control Center has been connected with Emergency Response Support System 112. When the panic button is pressed, a signal would be received through satellite to 112 and the person in distress would be connected and alert the police.
“There are very rare cases when such distress calls are made. In school buses out of curiosity children press the button and an alert is generated that adds to the number. However, if we really reflect back on the actual data then there are hardly such incidents where the safety of children and women are compromised”, shared Anupam Kashyap, director of Himachal Pradesh Transport.
Currently, there are 13 approved companies by the government that can provide tracking device installation services to customers at a very reasonable cost. Like it is said that carefulness costs you nothing while carelessness may cost you your life, Anupam requests the registered users to maintain their devices for the greater good.
