No National Disaster Declared for Himachal Pradesh: Congress Leader

Mandi, October 6: Despite the disaster that has hit Himachal Pradesh, neither has the Central Government declared it a national disaster nor has the Central Government provided any assistance to Himachal. In spite of this, the Congress-led state government is fully committed to the rehabilitation of the affected people, as stated by Congress MP and state party president Pratibha Singh during a one-day tour of the Sundarnagar constituency.
During this visit, MP Pratibha Singh also met with those affected by the disaster. She said that the state government had high hopes of help from the Center in this disaster, but neither has the disaster been declared a national disaster by the Center nor has any assistance been provided. Not only that, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not express any sympathy for the people who lost their lives in this tragedy.
MP Pratibha Singh said that after not receiving any help from the Center, the state government has taken the initiative to rehabilitate the affected people. The state Congress government is fully committed to rehabilitating the affected families and has announced a relief package of 4,500 crores. Based on department reports, all affected families will be rehabilitated in a phased manner.
During a one-day tour of Sundarnagar, MP Pratibha Singh inaugurated an additional building for the government primary school in Bhoun, built at a cost of 15 lakhs, and also inaugurated a smart room. She said that during her visit, she is meeting people and listening to their problems. Soon, solutions will be provided to these problems.
It should be noted that MP and Congress state president Pratibha Singh is on a tour of Mandi district from October 2 to October 6. On October 6, today, she visited the Sundarnagar constituency. During this visit, former minister Prakash Chaudhary and former MLA Sohan Lal Thakur, along with other officials, were also present.
