No more NPS deduction in Himachal: CS
1 min readShimla, Apr 17 – The Himachal Pradesh government on Monday issued a notification directing that no deduction should be made from the salaries of its employees for the National Pension Scheme (NPS) with effect from April 1.
A notification issued by the Chief Secretary Parbodh Saxena said that in view of the state cabinet’s decision for implementation of the Old Pension Scheme under the CCS (Pension) Rules 1972, the government has decided that contributions of its employees covered under National Pension System shall be stopped from April 1, 2023.
The state council of ministers decided to restore the Old Pension Scheme in a cabinet meeting on January 17 and notified the OPS in place of NPS on March 15.
The state government stated that it would help 1.36 lakh state employees to get pension after their retirement on the basis of OPS.
Earlier, under the NPS, the employees and the state government contributes share of 12 pc each based on the basic and DA of the employees.
