Chamba July 21: A devastating landslide struck Sutaah village in Chamba’s Mehla sub-division, Himachal Pradesh, around 3–4 AM, claiming the lives of a newlywed couple, Pallavi and Sunny. A massive boulder and rain debris flattened the house where they were sleeping. Pallavi had returned to her maternal home just five days earlier, and Sunny had arrived on Monday to take her back. The couple was married only five months ago.
The tragedy has plunged the entire village into mourning. The house was completely destroyed, and the bodies were recovered by police and administration teams. Locals are demanding the area be declared disaster-prone to prevent future calamities.
