• Rs. 10 crore released for maintenance of roads in Shimla town: Chief Minister
Newly elected Mayor Surender Chauhan and Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal along with Congress councilors of Municipal Corporation Shimla, met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at the HP Secretariat, today.
The Chief Minister congratulated the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and all the councillors and said that after this historic victory of Congress party, now the challenge was to come up to the expectations and aspirations of the people and the government leave no stone unturned to meet the needs and demands of the people. He said that he has also been a councillor in Shimla Municipal Corporation for 10 years and was well aware of the problems of the city.
The Chief Minister said that Rs. 10 crore had been released for the maintenance of roads in Shimla town and the state government mulling to introduce UV technology to provide clean drinking water to the people and to lay underground electricity cables in the city. He said that modern technology was being used in the development of the state and the government was paying special attention to implement in a big way.
Industries Minister, Harshwardhan Chauhan, Education Minister, Rohit Thakur and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
