New Library, CBSE Schools and Power Projects Announced in Theog

₹9,666 Cr Allocated to Education
Shimla, March 29, 2026:
Education Minister Rohit Thakur announced that ₹9,666 crore has been allocated to the Education Department, accounting for around 18% of the state budget, reaffirming the government’s focus on quality education.
He inaugurated a newly constructed library at GSSS Sarog in Theog and announced the introduction of commerce stream in the school. The minister also highlighted that four CBSE schools have been allotted to the Theog constituency.
In a major infrastructure boost, a ₹12.33 crore double-circuit transmission line has been commissioned, improving power supply in Kotkhai, Theog, and nearby areas. He also laid the foundation stone for staff quarters and announced horticulture as a vocational subject for Classes 11 and 12.
The government reiterated its commitment to strengthening education and rural development in the region.
