New Digital X-ray Machine to Reduce Waiting Time for Patients at IGMC
1 min readShimla, October 5, 2023: The Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is set to receive a new digital X-ray machine that will significantly reduce waiting times for patients. The installation of this new digital X-ray machine will take place in the Trauma Ward of the New OPD Block.
The existing digital X-ray machine at IGMC was installed over a decade ago and has experienced technical issues over the years, causing delays for patients in need of X-ray services.
With the introduction of the new machine in the New OPD Block, the load on the existing machines will be reduced. This will alleviate long waiting times for patients, who will no longer have to endure extended waits for their X-ray examinations.
The installation of the new digital X-ray machine comes at a cost of nearly two crore rupees. According to the IGMC administration, the CT scan and X-ray machines in the New OPD Block will be operational within the next two weeks, aiming to complete the project before the Navratri festival.
The delay in launching the machines was due to the ongoing construction of new parking facilities in the New OPD Block. However, now that this work is nearing completion, the installation of the new machines is progressing rapidly. The availability of the new X-ray machine in the New OPD will significantly improve the convenience and efficiency of patient care at IGMC.
