Negligence Alleged at Nahan Medical College After Infant Dies During Delivery

1 min read

Nahan, July 31 – Dr. Y.S. Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan, has once again come under scrutiny after a disturbing video surfaced on social media. Laxmi Sharma, a resident of Paonta Sahib, has accused the hospital of medical negligence leading to the death of her sister’s unborn child.

Laxmi claims her sister Chandrakala was admitted on July 25 with labour pains and was administered artificial labour-inducing drugs throughout the night. Despite intense pain and inadequate dilation, doctors allegedly delayed a C-section. After nearly 18 hours, the family was informed that the baby had died due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around its neck.

Allegations also include broken delivery tables, non-functional fetal heartbeat monitors, and lack of 3D ultrasound facilities. Sharma claims on-duty doctors were absent during critical hours and demands a fair investigation into how many infant deaths occurred in the gyne ward on July 25–26.

The family, still reeling from the trauma, has now decided to pursue legal action. Superintendent Dr. Sangeeta Dhillon stated that no formal complaint has yet been received, but any such complaint would be investigated as per protocol.
