NCSK Vice Chairperson Anjna Panwar Visits SJVN Corporate Office, Shimla

A meeting on welfare of Safai Karamcharis was held today at SJVN’s Corporate Headquarters (CHQ) in Shimla. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Vice Chairperson, National Commission for Safai Karamcharis Smt. Anjna Panwar. A warm welcome was extended by Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Sh. Sushil Sharma to Hon’ble Vice Chairperson Smt. Anjna Panwar. On this occasion Director (Personnel) Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Executive Director (HR) Sh. Chandrashekhar Yadav and senior officials of SJVN were also present.

Hon’ble Vice Chairperson Smt. Anjna Panwar in her address highlighted that National Commission for Safai Karamcharis strives to safeguard socio-economic condition and welfare of sanitation workers across the country. She commended initiatives of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, whose visionary leadership has led to upliftment of Safai Karamcharis with dignity and respect. Smt. Panwar also emphasized crucial role played by Safai Karamcharis during global pandemic, acknowledging their service to the Nation.

An interaction session was held by Smt. Anjna Panwar with all Safai Karamcharis of SJVN. She also had a dialogue with Medical Officer, EPFO representative and Owners, Managers & Supervisors of contracting agencies present in the meeting. A detailed presentation was made by Sh. Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR) on various welfare programs initiated by SJVN for Safai Karamcharis.

Anjna Panwar appreciated the initiatives and dedicated efforts of SJVN for welfare of the Safai Karamcharis. She directed the officials present in meeting to timely deal with the issues pertaining to Safai Karamcharis with sensitivity. She also suggested that to further enhance the working conditions of Safai Karamcharis, Provision of weather appropriate uniforms, routine full-body medical check-ups twice a year, insurance cover of all Safai Karamcharis, awareness camps for their families on various Central Government schemes may also be taken care of.

CMD of SJVN Sh. Sushil Sharma in his address stated that SJVN’s ongoing initiatives are aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of Safai Karamcharis. He assured Hon’ble Vice Chairperson that the company is already ensuring statutory compliances and the suggestions made during the meeting shall also be complied with.
