Nauni Varsity Students Excel in National Examinations

Five distinguished alumni of Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, have made their alma mater proud by clearing prestigious national-level entrance exams.
Among the successful candidates, four former students triumphed in the highly competitive Agricultural Research Scientist (ARS) examination, conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The results were declared last week. The ARS exam is one of the most prestigious in the field of agriculture, conducted to identify top scientists for research positions in ICAR institutions across India.
The selected students include Dr. Prashant Sharma and Dr. Harish Sharma from the Department of Silviculture and Agroforestry. Dr. Prashant Sharma, who earned his B.Sc. (Forestry) and PhD in Agroforestry from Nauni, is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the university. Dr. Harish Sharma, completed his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from the university was also selected in the ARS exam. Both were selected in the discipline of agroforestry. In the Soil Science discipline, Dr. Manisha Negi, who completed her MSc and PhD in Soil Science from the university, was also selected. Additionally, Dr. Thaneshwari, who completed her BSc and MS. in Floriculture from Nauni, was chosen as an ARS scientist in the Floriculture and Landscape Architecture discipline. Moreover, Parul Saini, a former BSc student, has recently passed the AFCAT examination and was selected as a Flying Officer in the Indian Air Force.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students and their guides for these remarkable achievements. He also commended them for setting inspiring examples for fellow students at the university. Faculty and students of the university joined in celebrating the success of these accomplished alumni.
