The Union Ministry of Education has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 rankings. The results were announced yesterday in New Delhi by Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.

This year, the rankings were released in 17 categories, and Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni featured in three categories.

UHF Nauni has been ranked 12th in the country among agriculture, forestry, and veterinary universities. Further, when considering all ICAR institutes in the agriculture and allied sectors category, the university has secured the 20th position.

The university has shown steady progress by improving its score from 54.67 in 2024 to 55.53 in 2025. Out of the 17 parameters, the university has improved its score in 9 parameters while also retaining its full score in four parameters. This improvement has been driven by better performance in parameters such as student strength, faculty qualifications and experience, publications, quality of publications, regional diversity and perception.

In addition to subject-specific rankings, the university has also been placed in the 101–150 band in the Universities category and the 151–200 band in the Overall category.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel said, “The university has been a consistent performer in these rankings and we have managed to improve our overall score this year in many parameters, which reflects the positive work being done by the university. However, we are also analysing the areas where our performance did not meet our expectations so that corrective measures can be taken for achieving even better results in the future.”
