Natural Farming Awareness Camps Held in Amlaihad and Gwalpatthar

Around 290 Farmers Registered Under ATMA Project in Hamirpur District

Hamirpur, July 24:
To promote chemical-free natural farming, the Agriculture Department under the ATMA project organized awareness camps in Gram Panchayats Amlaihad and Gwalpatthar. Around 90 farmers were registered in villages like Bhawda, Pukhru, Palakhar, and Khue Di Boon under Amlaihad, while nearly 200 farmers enrolled in Karadi, Bhararta, and Kwat of Gwalpatthar.

Dr. Nitin Sharma, Project Director, ATMA Hamirpur, emphasized the harmful effects of chemical farming and highlighted government incentives for adopting natural farming, including premium prices of ₹40/kg for maize, ₹60/kg for wheat, and ₹90/kg for turmeric.

Local panchayat leaders and officials including Dr. Narendra Thakur, Akshay Kumar Chaddha, and others were present, encouraging farmers to shift to sustainable farming for better health and income.
