Tributes to be paid in 171 Mandals across Himachal Pradesh

Dharamshala, December 22: The BJP has finalized its plans for the upcoming Good Governance Day and Veer Bal Diwas programs. BJP State General Secretary Trilok Kapoor, addressing a press conference on Sunday, announced that significant events will take place on December 25 and 26.

On December 25, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, tribute programs will be held nationwide, including at a central event in Delhi attended by the President, Prime Minister, and other dignitaries. Following the directives of BJP National President J.P. Nadda, similar events will be organized at every booth level across the country. In Himachal Pradesh, state BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal has instructed that Vajpayee’s statues in every booth will be adorned with floral tributes. Being Vajpayee’s centenary year, the celebrations will continue throughout 2024.

Kapoor highlighted the legacy of Vajpayee’s contributions, particularly the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which revolutionized rural connectivity. Special walks on such roads will commemorate his vision. Schools and colleges will also host poetry readings and other cultural activities to honor his memory.

December 26 will mark the nationwide observance of Veer Bal Diwas, commemorating the supreme sacrifice of Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh. Kapoor emphasized that their martyrdom symbolizes unwavering faith and valor, inspiring generations to uphold India’s culture and heritage.

PM Narendra Modi declared Veer Bal Diwas in 2022 to honor their sacrifice. Kapoor narrated the historic events of 1705, recounting the brutal imprisonment and martyrdom of the young Sahibzadas and their grandmother by the Mughals. Their refusal to renounce their faith stands as a beacon of courage and integrity.

Tributes and ceremonies will be held in Himachal’s 171 mandals, with floral offerings at statues and discussions on their legacy. National and parliamentary in-charges, along with district and mandal-level office bearers, have been appointed to ensure the success of these programs.

BJP spokesperson Sanjay Sharma, Kangra District President Sachin Sharma, and Media Co-Incharge Vishva Chakshu were also present at the event.
