National Science Day celebrated at Shoolini University

Shoolini University hosted National Science Day under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” under STUTI Programme supported by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in association with Sophisticated Analytical Instrumental Facility, Panjab University on Monday.
Students and faculty members of six premier schools from Solan, Shimla and Kasauli were present during the programme.
In his address, Chancellor Prof. PK Khosla emphasised the importance of scientific journals and research publications. He talked about Sir CV Raman’s life and his discovery. “The only profession that will make you immortal is science,” he added. He welcomed all students to Shoolini University, saying, “the burden is on you to make India a science-driven country.”
Vice Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla discussed future skills. He spoke with the students about their future and the future of science. He elaborated on the value of teamwork and shared his college-day experiences. He also used real-life examples to discuss the convergence of science and mathematics. “In the future, collaboration will be the most important skill to succeed,” he added.
The event began with Lamp Lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, and was followed by faculty felicitation from various schools. The Microbiologist Society of India also launched its Microbiology Calendar. Mr. Sunil Puri, Mrs. Poonam Nanda, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Ashoo Khosla, Prof. Kuldeep Chand Rojhe, and Dr. Anuradha Sorirajan were among those in present at the event.

The event was organised by Faculty of Science, Shoolini University and was hosted by Dr. Prachi Kapil.
