National Conclave on Sustainability, Productivity, and Green Growth Held at Jaypee University

On March 19th, 2024, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), located in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, hosted a significant event titled the “National Conclave on Sustainability, Productivity, and Green Growth.” This conclave, organized by the National Productivity Council, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, in collaboration with Jaypee University of Information Technology and Indian Potash Limited as an Industry Partner, aimed to shed light on crucial aspects of sustainable development.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by the Vice-Chancellor of JUIT, Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, followed by the dignitaries’ lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Ruchi Verma adeptly introduced the esteemed speakers, including officials from various government departments, industry experts, and distinguished personalities.

Throughout the conclave, a diverse range of topics vital to sustainable development were discussed. Notable presentations were made by Shri C Paulrasu on Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Farming in Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Rajeev Ranjan on the impact of ICRO on the country’s sustainable development, Sh. Man Mohan Sharma on methods for sustainable development, and experts from RITES and MSME departments focusing on green mobility, decarbonization, and solid waste management.

In addition to the sessions, an ideaathon and case study competition were organized, providing participants with opportunities to showcase their innovative ideas. Prizes worth Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 were awarded to the winners, fostering a spirit of creativity and problem-solving.

Moreover, a voter awareness campaign conducted by the District Election Office, Solan, in collaboration with JUIT, highlighted the importance of civic engagement and participation in the electoral process.

The success of the conclave was attributed to the dedicated efforts of student volunteers and the unwavering support of the university management. In his closing remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of JUIT expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers, emphasizing their contributions to the conclave’s resounding success.

Overall, the National Conclave on Sustainability, Productivity, and Green Growth served as a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and collective efforts towards building a sustainable future.
