NABARD officers visit UHF Nauni
1 min readThe bi-monthly meeting and exposure visit of officers from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was held at Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry(UHF), Nauni. The meeting was attended by 15 District Development Managers from all districts of the state. Sudhanshu Mishra, General Manager and Ajay Sinha, Deputy General Manager also attended the meeting.
Dr. Anil Sood, Joint Director (Communications) gave a presentation on the various activities of the university in the field of academics, research and extension education. He also talked about the several technologies developed by the university which could prove to be extremely beneficial to the farmers. He said that the university can help to cater to the training needs of NABARD in the agri-horti sector and can also collaborate in research projects sponsored by the rural bank.
During the meeting, Sudhanshu Mishra talked about the various FPOs established with the help of NABARD. He sought support from the university in the certification of organic products, post-harvest technology and marketing of products so that more value can be fetched for the produce.
Dr. Chaman Thakur, Joint Director(Training), Dr. Manica Tomar and Dr. Reshma Negi coordinated the exposure visit of the team. The NABARD team visited experimental farms of Floriculture, Vegetable Science, Medicinal and aromatic plants and the Post-Harvest Technology works being done by the university.
