In the district of Bilaspur, on July 29th, near Noa village, a woman’s body was found under suspicious circumstances. Her family members from her maternal side have accused the incident of being a murder. They have alleged that the woman’s husband is responsible for her death. The deceased woman, Reema, had married Karan from Bilaspur’s Noa village about seven months ago against her family’s wishes. According to her relatives, Reema had been facing difficulties shortly after the marriage. A day before her death, she had mentioned plans to visit a temple with her husband. On July 16th, Reema went missing and her maternal family was unable to contact her on her mobile phone. On July 29th, her body was found in suspicious circumstances near Noa village, with her head and arms detached. Based on a complaint from Reema’s maternal family, the police arrested her husband and presented him in the Bilaspur district court. Karan has been remanded from here. Unsatisfied with the police investigation, Reema’s relatives and villagers have collectively sent a letter to the President through Bilaspur Commissioner Abid Hussain Saadik, demanding a CBI inquiry into the entire matter.
