Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur expressed deep sorrow over the destruction caused by monsoon rains, especially in Mandi district, calling the loss of life and property heartbreaking. He urged the administration to intensify relief and rescue efforts and ensure immediate aid reaches the affected people. He confirmed that BJP workers have been mobilized in disaster-hit areas for assistance.

Congratulating Dr. Rajeev Bindal on becoming the new BJP state president, Thakur expressed confidence in BJP’s return to power, asserting that Congress would not even cross single digits if elections were held today. He also pointed out that the Congress has been functioning without an executive body for over nine months, calling it a sign of internal disarray.

Targeting the government for lawlessness, Thakur criticised the leniency shown in filing an FIR against a Congress minister accused of assaulting NHAI officers, while BJP leaders are charged with serious offences like attempted murder for peaceful protests. He alleged misuse of administrative machinery and demanded strict action against the minister involved in the Bhattakufer incident.

He further lauded the BJP government at the Centre under PM Modi for major national achievements like the construction of Ram Mandir and abrogation of Article 370, stating that these were milestones of a visionary leadership unmatched by Congress.
