Shimla, August 28: The monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, scheduled to take place from the 18th to the 25th, is set to witness face-offs between the ruling party and the opposition. Chief Minister Sukhinder Singh Sukhhu stated that due to the ongoing disaster situation in the state, this time the session has been postponed to September to avoid hindrances in relief and rescue efforts.

The Chief Minister remarked that the opposition is engaging in unnecessary politics regarding the scheduling of the monsoon session. The decision to not hold the session in August was based on the fact that the entire administration is occupied with preparations for the monsoon session. Given this, there could have been difficulties in relief and rescue work due to the ongoing disaster situation. Therefore, the session has been slightly delayed. The session will address the questions raised by the opposition.

Furthermore, on Monday, the Chief Minister held a meeting with officials in the Secretariat regarding disaster management and budget announcements. He provided directives to the officers for effectively dealing with the disaster. The discussions also extended to enhancing the government’s budgetary plans and other developmental activities in the state.

Responding to statements made by Rajasthan’s Chief Minister on the Enforcement Directorate’s raid in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Sukhinder Singh Sukhhu stated that the ED has become a political tool for the BJP, which the government is using for its purposes.
