For the first time in Himachal Pradesh, the Department of Animal Husbandry has inaugurated a state-of-the-art ultrasonography machine in Una. This advanced equipment will facilitate the examination of livestock diseases, making it easier to identify and address health issues. The ultrasonography machine has been installed at the Livestock Hospital in Laladi, falling under the Haroli constituency.

Una becomes the pioneer district in Himachal Pradesh to operationalize such a machine. The equipment, valued at INR 13.70 lakhs, aims to streamline the health check-ups of animals in the region. With nearly 50% of the dairy production in the Haroli region, the significance of livestock care cannot be overstated. The introduction of the ultrasonography machine at the Laladi Livestock Hospital has led to an influx of farmers seeking health check-ups for their animals.

Prior to this initiative, there was a lack of ultrasonography machines in any district of the state for diagnosing livestock diseases. The installation of the machine in Haroli, Una, is a pivotal step towards improving animal healthcare facilities in the region.

Haroli, known for its extensive livestock farming, particularly dairy production, has seen a surge in demand for livestock health services. The Laladi Livestock Hospital’s new ultrasonography facility has provided significant relief to livestock owners in the area.

Prominent livestock owners, including Nirmala V., Neena, Brahmadas, Gurmil Singh, and Ravinder Kumar, emphasized the importance of early detection of internal diseases in animals. They highlighted that numerous animals succumb to illnesses that go unnoticed due to the lack of proper diagnostics. The ultrasonography machine will enable accurate diagnosis, leading to effective treatment strategies.

The Laladi Livestock Hospital caters not only to the Una district but also attracts livestock owners from Bilaspur and Kangra districts. The initiative has received praise from farmers who now have access to improved healthcare facilities for their livestock.

Vinay Sharma, Deputy Director, District Animal Husbandry Department, expressed the department’s commitment to continuously enhance services for the convenience of the people. The introduction of modern equipment reflects the department’s dedication to facilitating the well-being of livestock and promoting advancements in animal healthcare.

The modern ultrasonography machine at Laladi Livestock Hospital marks a significant stride in veterinary healthcare services in Himachal Pradesh, benefitting both livestock and the farming community.
