Himachal Pradesh MLAs Kewal Singh Pathania, Bhuvaneshwar Gaur, and Ajay Solanki have praised Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s leadership and the launch of the Chief Minister Sukh-Ashraya Yojana, which benefits orphan children and vulnerable sections. This initiative makes Himachal Pradesh the first state in India to enact a law for the welfare of orphan children and others in need. The scheme offers assistance to orphans, specially-abled children, destitute women, and the elderly, providing them with education and employment opportunities. The state government has allocated financial support, totaling approximately Rs. 5.68 crores, and will provide Rs. 4,000 per month to newly identified children until they turn 27. This comprehensive scheme covers their basic needs, education, training, clothing, and even housing facilities for landless orphan children.
