Bilaspur, Sept 8 – Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani reviewed the functioning of PWD and Jal Shakti departments in Ghumarwin, directing officials to restore rain-affected roads and drinking water schemes on a war footing. He stated that the recent heavy rains caused losses of around ₹50–55 crore, including ₹45–47 crore to PWD and ₹8 crore to Jal Shakti.
Most roads in the constituency have been opened for small vehicles, while 4–5 routes for heavy vehicles remain blocked. Dharmani instructed urgent restoration to ensure smooth traffic flow. Of the 61 water supply schemes under the Jal Shakti division, 56 have been partially or fully restored, with damaged pipelines being repaired at the rural level. The lone sewerage scheme affected by rains is expected to be restored within 3–4 days.
He also inspected the Ghumarwin-Sunhani-Barthin road and listened to public grievances, instructing timely redressal.
