Mention of Bhuttico in ‘Mann Ki Baat’  Matter of Pride for State: Jairam

Shimla- Former BJP state president, former Chief Minister, and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur listened to the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” program in the Khalini ward of the Shimla Assembly constituency. State vice president Sanjeev Katwal, state media in-charge Karn Nanda, Kisan Morcha state president Sanjeev Deshta, former councilor Puran Chand, and Sushil Chauhan joined him. The event was hosted at the residence of ward coordinator Praveen Thakur.

On this occasion, Jairam Thakur expressed his delight, stating that it is a matter of pride for Himachal Pradesh that the PM mentioned the Bhuttico institution in his program, which will inspire the nation about the handicraft culture. Established in 1944 with just 12 members and a capital of ₹23, the Bhuttico Society in Kullu district has continuously reached new heights. The society, renowned on the international stage for its handloom products, provides direct and indirect employment to nearly one thousand weavers and has a turnover of crores of rupees. Bhuttico’s products are famous worldwide.

Jairam Thakur also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for taking selfies with the tricolor, encouraging the participation of all residents in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. He noted that the campaign has become a unique celebration of the tricolor’s pride, with enthusiastic participation from across the country and Himachal Pradesh. Thakur mentioned that the excitement of taking selfies with the tricolor and posting them on social media is palpable, and the campaign has seen widespread enthusiasm regardless of social status.

He extended his best wishes to Prime Minister Modi for the “Mann Ki Baat” program, praising it as an extraordinary initiative to unite the entire nation.
