Medical college should come on time: Congress MLA Lakhanpal

Hamirpur , Jan 2 – Congress party MLA Indra Dutt Lakhanpal on Monday inspected the construction works in the new campus of Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College under construction at Jol Sappar near Hamirpur and directed the contractor and the Health department authorities concerned to complete the construction work within the stipulated time.

He also held a meeting with the officers of the college and all the departments related to construction and issued necessary guidelines to them.

Lakhanpal said this medical college was the dream project of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu being local MLA and he has issued instructions to continuously monitor and review its construction works.

The MLA directed the officials of the medical college and related departments that all the construction works in the new campus should be completed within the stipulated time period and special attention should be paid to the quality of these works.

He said speedy settlement of all local issues related to the medical college is also being ensured and every problem in the construction work is being resolved on priority basis. He said the Chief Minister has released an amount of Rs 40 crore to speed up the work of the college. With this, the construction work of the new campus would be completed within the stipulated time period.

On this occasion, Principal of the college Dr. Suman Yadav and other officials provided detailed information to the MLA regarding the construction works and also apprised him about the local issues related to the construction work.

Earlier, Lakhanpal also visited the existing campus of Medical College and Hospital on Monday morning and took stock of various facilities there. He said the state government is determined to provide best medical facilities to the people and quick steps are being taken in this direction. In this series, modern facilities are also being expanded in the Medical College of District Hamirpur.
