Woman Arrested for MBBS Admission Scam

Sundernagar, June 25: A case of cheating amounting to ₹19 lakhs under the guise of securing admission in MBBS has come to light in Upmandal. The Dhanothu Police Station team has registered a case against the accused for fraud and criminal conspiracy. The police have arrested the female suspect in the case.

The accused was presented in the Sundernagar Court on Monday, where she has been remanded to 4 days of police custody. The identity of the accused woman has been revealed as Parul Sharma, residing in Masers Study Seven C, A-72, Fourth Floor, ST-4, Pratap Ganj, Madhu Vihar Main Market, Delhi. Further investigations will include questioning other involved suspects.

According to information, complainant Sunil Kumar, son of late Khayali Ram, resident of Naulakha Post Office, Kanadda Tehsil, Sundernagar District Mandi, had filed a complaint on August 21, 2023, at Dhanothu Police Station. The complainant stated that his daughter had scored low marks in the NEET (MBBS) examination in 2021. Upon this, he contacted his old market resident friend Vinod Kumar from Sundernagar.

The complainant informed that Vinod Kumar informed him about a doctor friend residing in Delhi and gave information about getting his daughter admitted to a good private college for MBBS. Before going to Delhi, the complainant, as per Parul Sharma’s request, transferred Rs. 2 lakhs from Vinod Kumar’s account to the study seven C account on 18-12-2021 as an advance. The complainant told that whenever there was a conversation about MBBS seat, only Vinod Kumar would talk to Parul Sharma on his behalf.
