Mathematics Day Celebrated

Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni celebrated the National Mathematics Day today at the university campus. The function was organized by the Department of Basic Sciences in collaboration with HIMCOSTE, Shimla. University Registrar Shri Prashant Sirkek was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Satyan Sanatan was the Guest Speaker of the occasion.
Various activities such as quiz competition, essay writing, slogan writing and poster making were conducted in which students from all the four colleges of the University, GSSS Oachghat and GSSS Shamrod took part.
The winners of the quiz competition were Sheena, Nancy, Priyanka, Samriti and Itika from COH&F Thunag. In the slogan writing competition, Pranjali from GSSS Oachghat bagged the first prize while Himani Thakur form COF Nauni stood first in the essay writing. Ravinder Kumar from COHF Neri got the first prize for poster making competition. Dr DD Sharma, Dean COH&F Thunag congratulated the students on the occasion.
