Shimla, February 8: Allegations of irregularities have surfaced in recent recruitments for clerks, JOA IT, gardeners, and other posts in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly. High Court lawyer and former Deputy Advocate Vinay Sharma has lodged a complaint with Vigilance, accusing the government of large-scale favoritism and backdoor appointments.
According to Sharma’s complaint, out of 44 recruited candidates, nearly 35 are from three specific assembly constituencies, including the PA of the Chief Minister and the son of the CM’s wife’s driver. He also alleged that some appointees are relatives of the Assembly Speaker. Sharma cited a statement from the Speaker admitting that future recruitments would prioritize other assembly constituencies, indirectly acknowledging manipulation.
The complaint asserts that top-performing candidates were ignored, and jobs were distributed to preferred individuals. Sharma has emailed his complaint to ADGP Vigilance and warned that if a case is not registered within 15 days, he will approach the High Court.
